El Patron Mexican Restaurant

De Soto welcomed a new restaurant to the area, El Patron, on Oct. 10.

El Patron is a traditional mexican family style restaurant that serves a wide variety of Mexican food.

Many De Soto High School students are excited for the new addition to our community.

“I am very excited for El Patron to open because I will finally have another place to eat besides McDonald’s,” sophomore Mason Johannes said.

El Patron accommodates seating inside the restaurant, as well as a drive- through for those on the go.

“I ate there the first day it was opened and it was amazing,” freshman Ethan Ferguson said. “I love Mexican food, so I am glad it’s so close to home and school,”

Some students don’t have the same feelings about this new addition that Johannes and Ferguson do.

They can agree on their love for Mexican food but they don’t agree in the place they get it from.

“I love Mexican food, don’t get me wrong, but I am a little upset that El Patron took place of the Taco Bell that was previously there,” sophomore Maddie Beal said.

Besides the different opinion of the restaurant, El Patron will add a place to De Soto for friends and families to gather and enjoy a meal together.
