New way to post wrestling scores

De Soto High School is hosting the 4A Regional Wrestling Tournament Feb. 19-20, but this time with a new technological advance.

DHS will live stream the scores and overall performance of Regionals over TrackWrestling.com.

The last time DHS hosted regionals was around six years ago, according to coach Shannon Sawner.

“TrackWrestling is an online system where coaches input the weight class, names of each weight class, the names of the wrestlers, and the scores actually have computers that are hooked up to score clocks and as the matches go on, when you update the score clocks, it also updates live online on the TrackWrestling website,” said activities director Ryan Johnson.

TrackWrestling will make it easier for parents, grandparents and other family members and friends to keep up with the score and the happenings of Regionals.

Attending Regionals are Atchison High School, Baldwin High School, Basehor-Linwood High School, DHS, Eudora High School, Holton High School, Bishop Ward High School, Piper High School, Sumner Academy, Jefferson West High School, Ottawa High School, Santa Fe Trail High School, Bishop Miege, Spring Hill High School and Tonganoxie High School.

Kansas State High School Athletic Association is now using TrackWrestling for all Regional and State tournaments.

Although the website will not affect the wrestlers, it will help family member keep up with stats, scores and Regionals in general.
