Boys’ Soccer:

-First time in school history to have won the league and regional title and finish in the top 8 in the state.

Coach Erpelding’s Comments:

“We had a very good season this fall. We turned things around from last season when a lot of people did not believe that we would be successful this year. We knew that we were going to have a great year and that we had a lot of things to prove, not only to people on the outside but to ourselves as a team.”

Girls’ Tennis:

-Regional:

Paige Williams – 1st place

Team placed 2nd place

-State:

Paige Williams – 3rd Place

Coach Hoffman’s Comments:

“The tennis teams at De Soto have been in a transitions state the last few years because of changes in the coaching staff. The lack of consistency has made it difficult for the players to develop and improve with the different approach every coach naturally takes. Coming into my first season, I wasn’t sure what kind of team I would be faced with… I am tremendously proud of the effort, perseverance, and growth made by all the girls during the season and look forward to building this program into the future.”

Golf:

-Individuals at State:

4th- Brittini Jensen

8th- Rhiannon Caldwell

Coach Wessel’s Comments:

“It was the most successful golf season the program has ever had. We had great senior leadership and some young talent that combined to have an incredible year.”

-We lost in the first round at Substate against Basehor-Linwood.

Jeannett Clampitt- 2nd Team All Frontier League

Coach Hothan’s Comments:

“This season was challenging for us in many different capacities, but I am proud of the way our girls came together and fought to accomplish the goals we set at the beginning of the season. They were a blast to coach, and it was a valuable learning experience for not only them, but myself as a coach.”
