Marketing takes on No Shave November

De Soto High School marketing classes are spreading cancer awareness with the infamous ‘No Shave November’ fundraiser this November.

“This is the first time that we’ve done ‘No Shave November’ as an activity or project with my Marketing II students,” marketing teacher Tom Byers said.

‘No shave November’ is a simple and popular way for people to raise awareness for cancer and to provoke conversation.

The rules of ‘No Shave November’ are to cut out shaving from your routine for the whole month and donate the money you would have spent on grooming products to the cause.

To participate, students can sign the ‘No Shave November’ sign up sheet and donate a dollar. The money that marketing raises will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

With over 40 participants so far, the marketing classes hope that in the future these numbers will grow.

“If it’s just the participants this year, that’s a start, and then next year they can figure things out a little bit better,” Byers said.

‘No Shave November’ is a great way for students to get involved and give back this holiday season and everybody is welcome to participate.
