Hannah Stevens, a senior here at De Soto High School, has proven herself to be a very musical individual. She is involved in band, Madrigals, Student Council, National Honor Society, LITE team and the school musical. She also plays the flute and takes piano lessons.

Among all these activities, Stevens has achieved a lot. This year in Madrigals, she received a 1 rating on her vocal solo and was a Johnson County Shooting Star Finalist for vocal music. Stevens also was cast as Nellie, the lead roll in DHS’s production of South Pacific and was the 2011 Homecoming Queen. In band Stevens is a drum major, she received a 1 rating on her flute solo this year, and was apart of Kansas Music Educators Association, (KMEA) District and All-State Band.

“My favorite part of choir and band is getting to know and work with others that love music like I do. We all practice and rehearse for the same goal, to make great music, and have fun while doing it,” Stevens said.

Stevens’ inspirations are her music teachers.
